The playtest and the tester program

Joining the Pixel Reign playtest, how Founding Kingdoms scores milestones, daily play, referrals and feedback, and what the public statistics measure.

Pixel Reign is invite-only right now. This page explains the three ways a wallet gets through the JOIN THE PLAYTEST gate, what the gate screen does, and how the tester program — the current playtest is called Founding Kingdoms — turns verified play, daily participation, referrals and useful feedback into points on a public leaderboard. Everything in the playtest runs on Robinhood devnet: ETH and KEEP here are test-net tokens with no real value.

Quick facts

Who gets in

Signing in is not gated. Anyone can open the game, tap CONNECT WALLET, and sign the free sign-in message (see Wallets and sign-in). What the gate protects is everything after that: your base, building, raids and the rest. Until your wallet is on the admitted list, every game request is refused and the client shows the JOIN THE PLAYTEST screen.

The PLAYTEST ACCESS gate screen with its single code box

Why: sign-in stays open on purpose. Redeeming a code needs a signed-in session, so an invited player has to be able to get that far before they have access to anything else.

1. Invite code from your approval email

2. Seeker auto-admission

If your wallet holds a Robinhood Mobile Seeker Genesis Token (checked on Robinhood mainnet, the one place the game reads mainnet), you are admitted automatically. The gate screen runs the check once when it opens; nothing you type can influence it. On success you see SEEKER VERIFIED — WELCOME TO THE PLAYTEST.

3. A friend's referral code

Any admitted player can get a personal code (shown on the Profile screen) of the form KEEP-XXXXX (five characters after the dash). Friends can use it two ways:

Rules that apply:

Tip: the gate box routes by prefix. KEEP-... goes to the referral path, anything else to the invite path. You cannot redeem an invite code by putting KEEP- in front of it.

What the gate screen shows

Code redemption is rate-limited to 10 attempts per minute per IP. If access is ever revoked, re-entering your old invite or a referral code does not restore it.

Why: the playtest gate is a switch the team controls, not a permanent rule. When the gate is off, every wallet can play. Treat everything on this page as "during the playtest."

The tester program

During the playtest, the game keeps score of what each tester has actually done. The program exists so the team can see who finished what, weight it by how important that path is to test, and reward testers through their wallet: whitelist spots for Genesis Land Deeds go to testers who mint their Land Deed — the top 300 by points if more than 300 qualify. The current playtest is called Founding Kingdoms; when the team announces its 14-day window, the site and the game show which day it is; until then the campaign reads TBA while the playtest itself keeps running and every point already counts.

Four things earn points, and all of them add up to one all-time total:

  1. Milestones — one-time firsts, verified automatically from the game's own records (ledger, raids, deposits, and so on). You do not claim them; the server derives them, and once earned a milestone is never un-earned, even if you later reset the tutorial or unequip the gear.
  2. Daily play — a fixed list of things that pay again every UTC day, each at most once a day (PvP wins up to twenty), plus streak bonuses for consecutive days. Derived the same way; signing in alone earns nothing.
  3. Referral days — a few points for every qualified friend of yours who plays on a given day.
  4. Feedback — reports you submit from the in-game TESTER screen, with a base award on submit and a possible admin bonus afterwards.

Points are frozen when they are awarded. If the team retunes the weights later, only future awards change. Nothing is reset for Founding Kingdoms: points you earned before it count.

The TESTER screen

A TESTER pill in the HUD opens the TESTER PROGRAM screen with three tabs:

From the Founding Kingdoms release the screen also shows today's daily ledger (what already paid today and what is still open), your streak, your referral counts (invited / qualified / active today), the campaign card with the reward sentence, and — if you are not on the public board yet — what would put you there. A small Founding Kingdoms chip in the HUD shows today's points and streak.

Milestones and points

All values below come from the game's shared constants. The weighting is deliberate: money and on-chain paths score highest, then combat and economy loops, then onboarding basics, then social. Tiered entries (10, 50) are separate milestones, so reaching the higher one also leaves the lower one earned.

Daily points

Milestones pay a single time; the sources below pay again every UTC day. Each one is derived from the game's own records by the same recompute that awards milestones — nothing is claimed, and a thing can pay at most once per day (or up to its daily cap). "Play today" means any real action in the game; signing in alone earns nothing. The recompute looks back three UTC days, so a build that finishes overnight or a withdrawal that settles late still lands on its own day. Points are frozen when a day is written; retuning changes only future days.

Streak bonuses pay on the day a run of consecutive action days reaches exactly the length — once per run, so a 14-day streak collects all three:

StreakPoints
3 days in a row5
7 days in a row15
14 days in a row40

Why the sizes: daily points are deliberately small. Even a day that touches every source, with all twenty PvP wins, pays less than the single Buy land milestone, so the money and on-chain paths keep their weight while daily play decides ties over a fortnight.

Referral days

Your personal KEEP-XXXXX code still pays the one-time Invite a friend and Your friend qualifies milestones. On top of that, every day a qualified friend of yours plays — qualified means they own land and have reached Keep 3, the same rule as the milestone — you earn 3 points for that friend, up to 25 qualified friends a day. A friend who does not act on a day earns you nothing for that day, and a friend who sells or transfers their deed stops counting until they hold one again.

Founding Kingdoms

The playtest campaign is presentation, not a separate board: its name, the reward sentence and a community goal appear on the site and in the game, and when the team sets the 14-day window a DAY X OF 14 counter appears too. Until a start date is announced, the campaign reads TBA — the playtest keeps running and points keep counting; the two-week competition starts on the announced date. The community goal counts Land Deeds minted by real players — on-chain activity, not founded Keeps — against a small ladder of targets; reaching a rung changes nothing server-side, it is there to watch together. Rewards are whitelist spots for Genesis Land Deeds for testers who mint their Land Deed — the top 300 by points if more than 300 qualify; there is no ETH prize and no budget to split.

Feedback rules

From the FEEDBACK tab, pick a category — BUG, BALANCE, UX / CONFUSING, IDEA or OTHER — give a title (up to 80 characters) and details (at least 10, up to 2,000 characters), then SEND FEEDBACK. The game attaches the screen you were on, the build, and your platform so you do not have to.

Why the split: base points reward the habit of reporting; the bonus rewards reports that matter. Capping paid submissions at 3 a day keeps the board from favoring volume over substance.

The public leaderboard

The board lives at pixelreign.dev/leaderboard and inside the game's LEADERBOARD tab. It shows the top 100 testers by total points, each row with a display name (or KEEPER if none is set), a shortened wallet like abcd…wxyz, the all-time Points, how much of that came from Daily play and from Referrals, and counts of milestones and reports. Full wallet addresses are never published; the team exports them privately when it is time to reward top testers. The website page is also designed to look up a single wallet's checklist if you type the address in — including your daily and referral points, today's ledger and your streak.

The playtest in numbers

Below the board, PLAYTEST IN NUMBERS publishes the state of the playtest. Every figure is computed on the game server from its own tables — sessions, builds, raids, deposits, deeds, feedback — and re-computed every five minutes; the page shows the time of the snapshot it is displaying. Nothing on it is typed in by hand or reported by the client. Definitions:
